Buzau: Slow Food Rumänien Konferenz

Meeting of the lovers of artisanal products and sustainable gastronomy 24 - 26 May 2024 ▪ Buzăul hosts for the first time the "Slow Food Romania Conference"
The Slow Food Buzău Community is pleased to announce the organization of the "Slow Food Romania Conference", which will take place on May 24 at the "I.C. Brătianu" Museum Centre in Buzău.

The conference brings together for the first time in Buzău the Slow Food communities in Romania as well as artisanal food enthusiasts from all over Romania.

In addition to the conference, the Slow Food Buzău Community invites you on May 25 and 26 to the "Craftsmen's Market" in Berca, at the entrance to the UNESCO International Geopark "Buzău County", to the fourth edition of the fair of artisanal producers.


The Slow Food Romania conference brings together relevant speakers in the field, artisanal food entrepreneurs, organic farmers, renowned chefs, food and wine bloggers and tourism development experts, who will provide valuable information and encourage discussion on promoting the Slow Food movement in Romania.The Slow Food Romania conference includes three panels highlighting the synergy between local food production, gastronomy and community development:

Panel 1: "Production and promotion of artisanal and organic food and drink" - This session will explore the vast opportunities available to entrepreneurs in the artisanal and organic sectors and discuss their impact on local community development.

Panel 2: "The Slow Food Movement as a promoter of local tourism development" - Presenters will share best practices from Romania, illustrating how the Slow Food movement can improve local tourism and economic growth.

Panel 3: "Farm-to-Table & Others" - This panel will present new approaches to cooperation between small farmers, guesthouses and restaurants to enrich culinary offerings through diversified farm-to-table initiatives.
"We are delighted to organise and host this unique event in Buzău, where we will delve into the rich tapestry of artisanal food production and its potential to transform local communities in Romania. We look forward to welcoming participants from all over the country," said Thorsten Kirschner, co-founder and spokesperson of the Slow Food Buzău Community.

In addition to the conference, the fourth edition of the "Artisans Market - Slow Food & Gourmet Hub" will take place on the weekend of 25 and 26 May in Berca, at the entrance to the UNESCO International Geopark "Buzau County". The fair dedicated to small artisan producers has succeeded in attracting thousands of tourists from Romania and abroad since its first editions. The market will feature an exhibition of local food artisans, an art exhibition, a "gourmet street food" section and will offer a family-friendly atmosphere.
