Bodies and (in) visible stories
Project created by the National Dance Center of Bucharest and co-financed by the Capital City Hall through ARCUB within the Bucharest - Open City 2021 Program.
The project "Bodies and (in) visible stories" maps, through guided performative tours given by choreographic artists, the history of dance in Bucharest. "Copuri şi stoveşti (in) vizibile" is one of the CNDB projects for recovering the history of Romanian dance, capitalizing the dance heritage, reactivating the collective memory by indicating the places in the city that marked the beginnings of dance, from the first dance studios in the 1920s, in the spaces where various dance companies and groups were active during the communist period and especially after 1989, which contributed to the construction of a dynamic contemporary dance scene.
